500 g (1 Ib) minced pork, 200 g (1/2 Ib) cooked potatoes, 11/2 tbs semolina, 1 egg, 2 medium onions; 40 g (11/2 oz) fat or 3 tbs oil, 2 small tomatoes, 1 medium green pepper, 4 tsp rice, 100 g (4 oz) grated cheese, 25 g (1 oz) noble sweet paprika, salt, freshly ground pepper.
Chop one of the onions finely and fry in the hot fat or oil until golden brown. Add the chopped tomatoes and green pepper and fry for a few more minutes. Blend together the minced meat, mashed potato, semolina, the remaining onion, finely grated cheese, salt, pepper and egg. Mix thoroughly together. Shape the meat into small balls. Place the meat balls into the hot paprika sauce, add the rice and a little water, cover with a lid and simmer, taking care that it does not stick.
Serve piping hot with the grated cheese in a separate bowl
